This PET bottle opener can also be a closer and has no direction.
You can use it without worrying about the direction of the opener.
[how to use]
If you insert the lower half of the opener to the cap, you can use it as the same opener as before. You can close the cap tightly by inserting it to the upper layer of the opener.
[history]
I made PETbottle Opener at Aug 27, 2020. (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4570640)
And I received a comment from "Belotte"-san. The comment was "Could you make one with a mix of both side, that should allow to lock/unlock bottles no matter what side we use ?"
So, I made a prototype and found that the upper and lower fins did not fuse with each other, so I decided to consider it in earnest.
[specification]
-The height of the fins has been changed from 8mm to 6mm from PetBottle_Opener_2. This is because the fins have two layers, so that they fit within the height of the PET bottle cap.
-The direction of the fins was decided so that it could be opened with the lower fins.
-The gap between the upper and lower fins was 0.5 mm.
[post printing]
It is recommended to sand the upper fins for better performance. This is because the tip of the upper fins are likely to be slightly out of shape during molding.
Insert the rolled sandpaper into the opener and lightly clean the tip of the fins.
[remaining problem]
-When a strong force is applied to the opener, the fins are deformed and the caps are fixed by the upper and lower fins. In this state, it takes a lot of force to pull out the opener.
-Compared to the 1-layer fins, the 2-layer type is a little harder to attach and detach.
[One last word]
I would like to thank "Belotte"-san for giving me this idea.
