Firstly I'd like to say I'm fairly new to this community and I love all the work you guys put in, this is my first quad so I'm still very much a beginner - I hope to not need prop guards for long! Thanks Tech2c - without you I'd have not gotten into this at all! (And in actuality if it weren't for the RClifeon youtube channel I'd have not found this when I did)
So I'm currently playing about with the standard prop gaurd by IlanF printed in TPU so this is not fully flight tested yet
But I didn't like the idea of having the motor mounting bolts having to be longer so thought it might be nice to have the arms with an integrated guard - keeping weight to a minimum as well - so have merged the two designs in fusion 360.
While I was on with it have enlarged the centre of the motor mount to 6.5mm as the original Peon arms would foul on my motors (4X Racerstar Racing Edition 1806 BR1806 2280KV 1-3S Brushless Motor CW/CCW For 250 260 RC Drone FPV Racing) so I would always have to drill them out - will save me a job now
UPDATE 10/03/2018 - Fly just great, had a huge crash before i remembered to take a pic hence one of the bumpers is missing an arm but still working fine (got tangled up in a tall sycamore and fell over 30ft upside-down - had to replace the top plate also - hey thats why we love 3d printing though!
