Some time ago I wrote a post on my blog about 3D Printing design projects for students in schools. I worry that many projects undertaken are not really stretching and challenging students and for speed are limited to flat objects like keyrings :0(
Projects need to encourage students to design products that "fit"... ie fit for purpose and designed to fit (dimensionally correct). see my original post here https://3dprintineducation.wordpress.com/2014/01/07/fit-for-purpose-3dprinting-and-cad-projects-for-dt-students/
Anyay, to illustrate my thoughts I produced a couple of pencil pots. I have since then been aske a couple of times to publish the files for these designs... so here they are. But maybe it's better to design something to "fit" your own purpose :-)
