Knowing that Fusion 360 software has the feature of parametric design, I decided to try it out on a phone case. It is a design for all brands of mobile phones. The phone case has one button opening on both the left and right side and a camera opening on the front.
You may simply enter the parameters such as width, height, position and width of the buttons and camera openings and you are ready to go. The software will generate a phone case of your own!
The attached stl file is a Samsung S6 case made with this parametric design. I have tested the .f3D file with different phone models. So far it works pretty well.
Here are the steps:
Step 1 :
Click the link below to access the design file or you can download the .f3D file here. Of course you need to have the Fusion 360 software (and a bit knowledge about the software) in order to work with the file.

Step 2 :
Open the file , select Modify and Change Parameters. Enter the values with reference to your phone size. The values listed below are for the making of Samsung S6 case. Vaules are in minimetres.
Width = 67 (width of the base plate of the phone case )
Height = 140 (height of the base plate of the phone case )
RoundCornerRadius = 4 (round corner radius of the base plate )
ArcWidth = 2 (side bulge/curve of the case )
ArcHeight = 7 (height of the side bulge)
LeftButton1Postion(camera facing up) = 45 (measuring from the top of the base plate)
LeftButton1Width = 15 (width of the button opening )
RightButton1Position = 15 (measuring from the top of the base plate)
RightButton1Width = 30 (width of the button opening)
CameraPostionX = 25 (measuring from the left of the base plate)
CameraPositionY = 15 (measuring from the top of the base plate)
Camera Width = 28 (width of the camera opening)
Camera Height = 15 (height of the camera opening)
Notes :
(A)Please take good care of the position and the dimension of the button openings and the overall size of the phone case. Entering the wrong numbers may cause errors and generate no output. I suggest to make a draft on papers before changing the values.
(B) Please aware the Width and Height are not the actual size of your phone but the size of the base plate of the phone case. You may determine the Width and Height with reference to the following equation.
Width + ArcWidth x 2 = width of the phone + clearance
(C) The thickness of the phone case is fixed at 2mm by default and cannot be changed. The height of the button openings is fixed by default and is equal to the ArcHeight value you enter.
Step 3 :
Try different values and see how it goes before actually print out the phone case . Enjoy!
At last, I have attached a 2D drawing (Fusion 360 really did a great job) with reference to above parameters for the design of a Samsung S6 phone case. I hope that it helps you to understand my design and revise the parameters to make your own.
