The Oslo Spektrum is an indoor arena in the heart of Oslo, Norway. It was opened in 1990. Originally, it was intended to be the new home arena for Oslo-based hockeyteams Vålerenga Ishockey and Furuset IF, but both teams moved out after a couple of years. It has a capacity of 10,000 , which has been criticised as being too small for popular events (most notably the 2007 Bruce Springsteen concert which was sold out in less than 10 minutes). The building is the main arena for such events as the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, the Nordic Music Awards, the Spellemannprisen (the Norwegian 'Grammys'), and a variety of performances by other international artists. Each year the Oslo Spektrum also accommodates a large number of trade fairs, conferences, and sports events, as well as the popular Disney on Ice shows. In 1996, it hosted the Eurovision Song Contest. Frank Sinatra, Roxette, Shakira, Celine Dion, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Shania Twain, Sissel, Eminem, Elton John, Robbie Williams, Guns N' Roses, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Ozzy Osbourne and Bob Dylan are just some of the artists whose shows have taken place at the Spektrum. It was the venue for the first ever concert the Spice Girls performed as a quartet, following the departure of Geri Halliwell. The Oslo Spektrum is known for its blue- and red-shirted crew. The blue shirts are service-crew and the red shirts are security. #Oslo #scene #spektrum
