I love space ships and so do my kids. So I like to design toys for them that are quick prints but still good quality. This particular space ship is an orbital scramble jet: designed to launch in space for ship-side or planet side strikes.
When I was a kid I loved the USA TV series Baa Baa Black Sheep. This space fighter is inspired by the F4U-1 Corsair wing design from WW2 (inverted though).
The craft features two supercharged jet engines and one space capable ion drive at the rear. Payloads two front, fixed lazer blasters and two ship to ground, ship to ship missiles. Remember, kids love little details like that when you hand it to them. ;)
You can get further detail on the front grill portion by increasing the size of this model, but the stl is the size this was designed for in regards to the details. It will print smaller, and it will be sturdy, but your printer might have trouble with the front grill and the details for the jet engine intakes.
Making it bigger will give some improvement to those features, but not enough to really justify.
Really, I made it to print at the size in the stl to get a good, quick print. On my CR 10 it takes ~30 minutes to do a .15 mm layer size on a .2mm nozzle.
Sample pictures are my CR-10 with silver Hatchbox PLA, .2mm nozzle, .15mm layer height. Quick print and my kids are begging for a whole squadron, so enjoy!
