A more durable and more crash-resistant OpenRC F1 front wing design, which is compatible with the original nose section.
Flexible fixations are absorbing the energy of the impact (on some level) and let the wing moving during a crash.
Tested on the field (on an R/C race track) by my kids - with good results. No damage on the front part. (Before the upgrade I have to glue back the front wing pieces many-many times...)
There are 3 main components:
1.) Modified front wing (reinforced and modified fixation)
2.) A damper & aligner part (aligning the wing and absorbing/dumping the impact energy)
3.) A circular damping and fixation element.
M3 screws (10 and 12mm long) and ususal M3 nuts are used to fix the wing.
I used PETG for the front wing (just as for the whole car), and a flexible filament for the connecting elements (the same type as I used for the tyre) - with 50% infill rate and 4 outlines/perimeters.
