Last year, I went for the first time to harvest olives in order to produce our family's oil. It was a difficult but also a very productive work to be done. I found myself trying to harvest olives from tall olive trees with a single machinery that was hard to control and quite heavy. My brother, a friend of his and me managed to harvest 44 olive tress in 7 days, working from 8 in the morning till the dawn of the sun.

I found myself thinking a better and faster way in order to harvest olives from the olive trees, without the need of many people or staying for a long time in the countryside for the work to be done.

My project is easy to use, it operates with a generator, as most of the harvesting machinery does and it is easy to be assembled by one person in no time. The parts for the runaway of the machine are easily connected with each other in order to create a square around one or more olive trees so that the forks of the machine can hit the branches of the trees and throw down the olives.

The forks are made from soft plastic material like nylon so that they can not harm the olive tree.

The machine is easily moved on the runaway with 4 small wheels on its base.

According to the height of the olive tree, the operator can add or remove forks on the machine and even add more sets of forks. Each set of forks can be adjusted according to the morphology of the tree by giving an angle to the set.

Underneath the olive tree the operator/farmer can spread the nets for the collection of the olives, as they are used nowadays.
