I scanned this beloved and worn teddy bear as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. Before the original was snuggled into scraps and thread, I wanted to immortalize it so she can have a little mini plastic version that might outlast the real one, or have one after passing the original on to our daughter.
I scanned it via photogrammetry and Autodesk Recap. The scan turned out really good, only needed some cleanup where the feet contacted the table and some exaggerating/sharpening on the folds and creases so they'd pop a bit more when printed.
Even without any personal sentiment attached, I think it's a fun little print. I like prints that feel natural and realistic and don't look stiff and too perfectly polished and digital, something that has a little personality. 3D scanning is great for this. I hope to do much more in the future.
