This model is intended to be a test for another iteration in the later future. If you would like, please send this model to your printer, and tell me how it looks. If everything goes well I will release a more detailed model to the market, as well as make it available for sale on Shapeways. If not, I will make the changes necessary.
I do not recommend attempting to print this object at more than 4 inches tall, simply due to time and plastic requirements. I also recommend using a reinforced hollow build structure available through most printers, for the same reason.
The No Man's Sky Portal Statue is intended to be a small trophy or statuette, perfect for displaying in your home or at the office. It features the portal altar, a baseplate for stability, and a "golden orb" (a cheeky reference to the days when players thought pushing the orbs found at portals into the altar would activate it).
