UPDATED UPDATE: I've included some pictures of the ever popular twisted vase (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18672) printed in ninjaflex after all the mods and with all the settings mentioned below. This is to show any skeptics that you can in fact print ninjaflex with perfect results on the Duplicator i3.
UPDATE: I recently printed dokool's extruder plate located here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1340811
It makes a big difference and I've gotten some pretty complicated prints after installing it in combination with my adapter. With the plate I printed at 20mm/s, 1.00 extrusion multiplier, 1 mm retraction, and an infill overlap of 35%. If you've already printed my adapter i would definetly suggest printing the plate as well.
This is a insert for the extruder so that Ninjaflex specifically will work. I don't see why it wouldn't work on other flexible filaments but I've only tested Ninjaflex. The other piece is an adapter for the spool. The standard spool size of Ninjaflex is 2 inches and the Duplicator has a 1.25 " spool holder. To install the extruder insert unscrew the large cooling fan and remove it and the heat sink. Lift the stepper motor up and place the insert with the large hole facing down. It should fit perfectly over the nipple on the extruder base. Definetly use ABS so it doesn't deform from the heat. I've been successful printing with Ninjaflex with 15mm/s speeds with the bed off and the extrusion speed at 60% with a 325% first layer height on buildtak. Also i changed the infill overlap which was 15% on my settings to 30 %.
