Netsplit is an untested 150g combat robot in the style of Tombstone. It's the first robot I've designed or built, taking many cues from the other robots available on Thingiverse. It was designed entirely in Tinkercad. Hopefully once events pick back up I'll be able to fight it and see how it does.
You'll need to print:
1x chassis
1x lid
2x motormounts
1x helper (optional, but prevents getting stuck on its back)
1x bar
I've included a couple 3d printable options for bars, plus a dxf for a steel bar I'm going to try to get cut as soon as I figure out a way to avoid having to buy 10 of them (maybe I'll come up with 10 variations). If you manage to cut the steel bar you'll need the weapon retention button. Team Monsoon also has a selection of beautiful weapons, and the 68mm bars will fit perfectly on this bot both in size and weight. You can also cut a steel ruler using one of the 3d printed bars as a template, which is incredibly destructive and very cheap.
You'll also need the following hardware:
4x self tapping m3 for the lid
6x self tapping m2 for the motor mounts and switch
4x or more m2 machine screws (my motor came with plenty)
1x zip tie
plenty of heat shrink, wire, connectors appropriate to your battery, etc
2x wheels with a 33m diameter or greater that fit on 3mm D shafts -- pololu has good ones but you can get 5x as many from aliexpress if you're willing to wait, I've also tried these to middling success
For the electronics, I'm going to avoid linking anything since links for robot parts seem especially prone to rot. Everything was sourced from Amazon, ebay, or aliexpress, but you'll have to do some hunting.
1x BE1806 2300KV as weapon motor -- don't pay more than $15 or so for this, I see a lot of very expensive listings for some reason
1x 12A 2s Brushless ESC
2x 500-700rpm n20 gear motor with ESC -- these are hard to find and expensive, bare motors and a 1.8a 2s dual ESC would be more maintainable long term
1x small 2s battery -- the Galaxy 120mAh battery will run the bot up and down my hallway with the weapon at 50% for about 9 minutes before dropping below 7v, but there is room for the easier to find 300mAh batteries
1x fs2a 4 channel receiver -- the i6 radio seems fairly standard and this is the smallest (and cheapest) available receiver for it
Every wire you get is gonna need to be shortened and it's a good idea to eliminate as many connectors as you can. Once you've done all that it should fit in no problem, I have plenty of room even with a 300mAh battery.
Since this is my first robot I ended up buying almost every part a couple times to come up with the right combination of thing. The exact parts that are on the robot as I type this cost me $80, but I've spent about $200 on the hobby so far. Not bad for many evenings of entertainment, and I have enough components for a 2nd bot to battle my wife with.
