This is a hook that can be fitted on the screws that are used to construct a Better Shelter (by IKEA foundation) Refugee Housing Unit (RHU). It was designed by the participants of the Core Relief (www.corerelief.org) workshop.
The hook is used to allow the visitors of the hospitality camps to attach nets and tarps to create shade without damaging the RHU or creating a fire hazard.
This design is a proposal for an extra standardized item that can be manufactured alongside the other parts of the RHU. It also includes a proposal for a urban plan (different layouts.max) of the camp that will maximize the comfort level in terms of shading and minimize fire hazard with the planned placement of shading, thanks to the hooks. The design is not "finished" but is something that can be improved to become a mass manufactured item.
