The future is today with this work-space concept.

The central themes I have considered include ergonomics, efficiency, and utility.

The furniture maintains a simple, elegant appearance. The tabletops are constructed from sustainable bamboo and can be stained to the user's specification. The legs are constructed from anodized Aluminum Alloy. Additionally, each piece contains the latest in technology that all engineers and designers should have at their fingertips.

The configuration includes 3 separate tabletops.

1. The standard- This is meant to be the center piece for the work-space environment. User comfort and ergonomics are at the heart of this design. The table top sits on adjustable spring loaded V-profile legs. The default configuration is set to be a standing desk. The height can be fine tuned depending on user factors for optimal comfort. This can be adjusted low enough to be used as a traditional sitting desk for ultimate customization. The underside of the table top includes a cable management bracket, a power strip/surge protector, backup battery power, and mounting hardware to accept a wide variety of computer configuration mounted from the underside of the desk. Mounting the system this way reduces cable clutter and allows for the tabletop height to be adjusted without manually moving the CPU. The rendering shows a mounting bracket designed for the latest Apple Mac Pro, alternate brackets can be installed to fit any PC or even a laptop dock.

The table-top also includes a user upgrade-able connection station. The renderings show this as a 6 port usb hub, but this can easily be configured to include other connections to take advantage of system and NEC monitor capabilities. Note that front of the table is on an angle to promote user visibility and ergonomics when using the ports.

On the top side of table top I have included an Inductive Charging panel to allow users to charge mobile devices with compatible charging technology.

On the far right of the table top I have included a touch panel tablet that serves as the brains of the work-space. This panel can be oriented in several degrees for access and read-ability and can be completely removed and taken with the user to maintain connection with the work-space.

The panel would be used for several different aspects of day to day activity including the following:

- Palm recognition log-in
- Environmental controls (heat/A/C)
- Lighting Controls for optimal appearance of NEC monitors depending on ambient conditions
- Office phone complete with video conferencing capabilities
- 3rd screen appropriate applications such as calendars, to-do lists, signature capture

2- Side Table Storage- This smaller table top includes extra table space that can be used for many things including placing a table top 3D printer. This table has a 4-bay built in raid array for back up storage. The drives are hot swap-able and can be configured for the users needs.

Finally, in order for the panel and other devices to connect to the standard, the table top has integrated Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.

3. The large side table- This large table gives the user further space for working but also includes an adjustable 42 inch NEC touch screen interface. This panel can be used as a modern day draft bench as well as reading large engineering prints and collaborating with teams.

Thanks to the following for the prop models for my renderings:

Alex Gage- MakerBot Replicator 2X
Gianmatteo- Apple Keyboard Wireless 2011-2012
Gianmatteo- Apple Magic Mouse wireless
Mike Armostrong- Mac Pro 2013
