To my mind, a desk of the future will still look pretty similar to the current designs, but there will be some differences.

For instance, there will be a different use of materials. I think we will go back to warmer materials like wood. This desk is built from a chipboard. That way we use pieces that would otherwise be wasted.

It includes a removable cork panel that can isolate the desk a bit in crowded work spaces. It can also be used as a "post-it" area, to pin some reminders or pictures.

Apart from that, this design includes a small blackboard to write down or draw our ideas, and a plastic pencil case that can be taken from place to place. It also has a round hole to lead the cables in a convenient way.

Desktop computers will keep being miniaturized, so it will be less necessary to have a specific space for the tower.

The chair is the Aeron chair from Herman Miller. Thanks to Hamidreza Talatian for the mouse, Gianmatteo for the keyboard, Karol Lak for the pencil, Sebastian Finke for the pen, Mike Amstrong for the Mac Pro and Jonathan for the fabulous work on the monitor.

15/02/2014: I edit to add the links for the products included in the composition.

I downloaded the chair directly from Herman Miller's web page. This is the link: http://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/performance-work-chairs/aeron-chairs.html
