The LEGO Saturn V rocket is incredible, but I decided what it really needed was some authentic lighting, just like NASA uses on the launch pad. This is a xenon spotlight/generator trailer scaled to match the LEGO Saturn V (1:110) and designed to fit two 5mm white LEDs. Designed in OpenSCAD from the few photos I could find of these things. I suspect these were only used with the space shuttle, but they look too awesome for me to care that much.
I currently have them wired up with some old ribbon cable, but it's much too stiff. I'm going to try magnet wire dropped down through a hole in the light pedestals to see if that will look nicer.
For construction, the wheels snap on to the trailer frame, the yokes snap onto the light housings, and the yokes just sit in the pedestals. Everything else is glued down.
You will need:
4x wheel (black)
1x fender (gray) -- has left and right fenders in it
1x body (gray)
1x generator-base (black)
1x generator (white)
2x pedestal (silver)
2x yoke (silver)
2x light-5mm or light-solid (silver)
2x 5mm white LEDs (optional)
