T-Slot Extruded Al with proprietary designed mounting fixtures and custom seat track for mtg plate. Total wgt without all fasteners is 7.826 pounds and 8.636 pounds with all fasteners. This includes the mounting plate seat tracks which would deploy mounted onto the plate.

This is a flexible system as the short bars can be moved to any position along the upper and lower long rails to accommodate different mounting plates for future experiments.

In addition other equipment such as cameras etc can be mounted to the T Slot rails. The rails are strong enough for attaching crew restraints if required.

Another feature of this design is the open volume between the mounting plate and the rack accommodations. This gives complete access to the experiment and allows for any routing of electrical or data cables. The space also means other rack mounted drawers can be accessed and opened up to 8 inches froward of the Express racks.

The EAS is assembled on-earth with the seat track attached to the mounting plate. The EAS fixtures and fittings are all bolted together. All fasteners are 12.9 Hi tensile metric. They can be made captive by having a small shoulder dia and a shortened thread length as the mating parts both have tapped threads.

On-orbit assy is very simple. Unfold and atch the upper and lower main rails to the ISS seat track, (the locating lugs are spring loaded and snap into place).
The T-Bars slide to the central posn and the four fasteners are tightened on each pair of long rails.
The mounting plate is then atch to the EAS using the seat track.

Confirmed FOS is within limits for all components: included bolt failure analysis. All contacts are bolted and set to No Penetration to give the most accurate analysis.

The FEA Reports are atch and include the Moments data.

A draft SIDD is attached which requires further work if this design is accepted.

Note: The locking lugs spring is not modelled.

Full SW Assy's are included with a Folded and Assembled config in the EAS Assy.

eDrawings 3D files are also included with measurement enabled. This is the best way to view the folded vs assembled config using the EAS Main Assy.easm file.
