This Staue of Narsinha, a demonic beast form of God Vishnu, built in 1703AD by king “Bhupatindra Malla” is placed as a guardian at the top of the staircase, guarding the Five Storeys Roofed Pagoda Style temple located in Bhaktapur called “Nyatapole Temple”.

The guardians at each side of the temple are set up in terms of strength, at the bottom of the stairs,there are the weaker ones, the two strongest warriors of that time and at the second and third lineup there are sculptures of elephant and a lion respectively, at the top, the fourth one, there lies this sculpture of Narsinha, meaning the strongest among all four beings. The temple was erected by the Newari King during a 7-month period from late 1702 to 1703.

It is the temple of Siddhi Lakshmi, the Tantric Lakshmi who is said to bring wealth and auspiciousness. The tallest pagoda temple in Nepal and tallest building in all Bhaktapur.
