The C4 series ST2 is here, earlier than origially planned. It's based on the all new CML platform shared with the ST3, Serber CS3 and ITC S4, M2 and GS2. The new chassis is ligher and has a lower file size than before. It's more space efficient and versatile, supporting longitudinal and transverse front wheel drive as well as the rear wheel drive used here. The suspension is Double A-arms all round, combine this with RWD and you get class leading handling. The engine in the S is a 1.6l turbo 4 cylinder with 128kW@6000rpm and 256Nm@2200rpm and the standard gearbox option is a six speed manual, a 6 speeed DCG is optional. You also get traction and stability control, 6 disc CD player, iPod connectivity, climate control, bluetooth and 7 airbags. Premium audio with an 80GB hard drive and leather seats are optional. The C4 series means a return of the S to the US market, as it is now different enough in styling to the ITC S4, which is now sold in Australia, Europe and New Zealand, which previously only got the ST2.
