This is a programming clip for MSOP-8 devices, designed to be used before placing your chip onto the final circuit board. I designed and printed this because a PCB I as working on did not have space for in circuit programming points. It took me a few iterations to get right but I am now very happy with it. It prints fine on my Elegoo Mars resin printer, I don't think any FDM printers could cope with this, the smallest detail is 0.1mm.
There are three STL files and three gerber files. Body_A and can be printed directly on the build plate, Body_B used supports as I had problems with it not sticking to the build plate. The gerber files for the copper, drilling and board outline.
The springs I used were 7.1mm od, 12.7mm length. When cured simply place the springs onto the clip and push through Body_A. Once clipped in place, glue Body_B onto Body_A, this keeps the clip in place.
Place your IC into the cradle and the whole assembly can then clip directly to the small PCB, allowing you use the IC in a breadboard for programming and development.
After printing and using this I have marked a corner to show pin one using acrylic nail paint, I may add a physical notch later.
