MRAP Land Stalker (Mine Resistant, Ambush Protected)

The MRAP system of vehicles, is a project started by the United States Marine Corps, in result to the high ammount of lives lost in combat zones such as Afghanistan, due to Improvised Explosive devices. As a result, numerous companies such as BAE, and International each built what is known as the MRAP. These are extremely well armored vehicles, capable of on and off road travel, that can carry personnel safely without the risk of an IED attack. Although these vehicles still have vulnerabilities, they are considerably more protected than the Humvee, (US Forces) or G Wagen (Canadian Forces). I have built my own design of MRAP, using some of the real models as a guide. I am quite proud of this model, as it is 100% made by me. I have built the entire vehicle from scratch, and not used a single part from any other modeler. The science behind this MRAP is the use of a V shaped hull. When the vehicle is hit by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device), the majority of the energy is deflected away from the personnel. It also has all the latest in imaging technology, and slat armor. It also has 3.5' bullt proof glass, and ceramic micro armor ontop of a titanium/steel composite armor. Although an axel may be lost, due to the extremely heavy hull armor, the vehicle will not be a complete write off. As usual, please rate and leave a comment.
