When i go on base for work, the guard has to actually physically hold my ID and examine it. This means most holders, lanyards, clips, etc didn't work for me.
I'm on my motorcycle, which makes things worse, so i created this. It always gets a favorable comment from the guards, since i can do things so quickly and efficiently, which makes their job easier.
it has a thin plate with fingers to hold the badge. I've used it for 5 months and haven't had a problem. it uses the RAM Mount system that all my bikes use. This is the RAM-B-202U-23 Ball Base with 1.5" x 2.5" 4-Hole Pattern
It should work for most credit-card size badges without raised lettering.
I've included the OpenSCAD files so people can customize it as necessary.
Update 10-NOV-2019: Added relief to friction fingers in middle plate so bolt tightness doesn't affect things. It's just one layer, but it makes a big difference.
Update 11-NOV-2019: Finger shape improvement for more friction.
NOTE: the ZIP file has a ton of weird crap in the /images directory, but the STL and SCAD files in the /files directory are correct.
NOTE: I'm going to stop using Thingiverse and switch to something that works.
