I made this quick light weight enclosure for my electronics after moving the components off my A8 frame (vibrations + solder joints = failures). One thing I did not want to do was make an enclosure that was specific ONLY to my setup, or only to ONE setup. Thus I made this modular design. The blank mount card can be configured anyway you need. Just add the mount bosses for your boards and make cut-aways to reduce material used.
The cards included are:
1 card for the stock A8 V1 board
1 card for 5x TL smoothers, 1x Mosfet and 1x Optocoupler
1 blank to import for your custom use
Printing/Assembly notes: This was designed around a .2 layer height, and a .4 wall extrusion width. The honeycomb sections are 1.6mm, so set your extrusion thickness accordingly. You will think its awfully light weight when you're assembling, but once assembled it's fairly rigid. The screws used for assembly are M3 counter sunk head. The holes are sized so that you just screw it together with no threading or dressing. Screw pockets accept a maximum 12mm length screw, though 12mm is way excessive. Print 2x top/bottom and 2x any side plate and 1 each front and back. Top/bottom are interchangeable each other, as are the sides.
I will add new mount cards as they come along. I know many use two mosfets, so I may whip up a quick mount card for that soon. I encourage you to make your own and share them. If you like I would be happy to add them to the files here as well.
Hope this helps someone out! Thanks for looking. Cheers!!
Update July 10, 2019: Added pictures with dimensions of the mount card and top/bottom plate so those who wish to build off of this have the numbers. The mount cards are extruded to 3mm thick. If you need other measurement please ask!
