This is a mobile Mars base design. The living and working space is three stories tall, or about 33 feet. The whole base would be brought to Mars in small parts and constructed on site. The design is built to fight the elements and terrain. The wheels are individually operated on jointed hydraulic axles. The wheels to the rover are as tall as the body. In case of a dust storm, the base will turn into the wind. The body is then lowered between the wheels on the hydraulic axles. The front would be protected by the jaws. This would make it so that the body would be protected from the sides and front, protecting it from the storm. The mobility of the base helps it move with or toward resources that would otherwise require more vehicles to collect. The huge jaws on the front, in addition to protecting the base, can scrape up and collect resources for the base.
The top floor of the base would be a greenhouse helping to feed the population on board. This will also generate some oxygen, but not enough for the whole base. This is why there will be a molecule converter. This device could chemically break down molecules into elements, like Co2 into oxygen and carbon. The oxygen could then be put into the base’s atmosphere. Overall this Mars base will be able to survive dust storms, feed and oxygenate a crew and collect resources easily.
