I've had a powerbot qi charger for 2 years now to charge our phones. My wife got a new case thats thicker and could no longer charge her phone. I took apart the charger and made a new shell for it that only puts about 1-2 mm of space between the phone and the coil and it somewhat worked but putting the coil right up to the phone case worked perfectly, I guess her case is right at the 5-7mm range of wireless charging. So I used some spare parts I had around the house and 3d printed a stand to hold the charging PCB. Its very simple but I really love the look of it.
You can use any QI Charging PCB, just fix the size of the clip so you can mount it.
