I've been painting miniatures for over 20 years. Most the time, I use a cork or other item to tack or pin the model to. The problem is, with larger hands and over long periods, it causes cramping in my fingers and joints to hold such a small piece. Plus, I never feel like I have a good grip on the model. I created this to eliminate those problems, and also allow me to rotate the model while painting without losing grip.
Suggestions:
-MAKE SURE TO ROTATE SOME PIECES...THEY HAVE INDENTIONS ON BOTTOM!
I included a shaft print, but I actually ended up just cutting a 1/4" PVC pipe and using it. It was much easier to shave to correct tightness and didn't use up material.
Make sure to glue the turn wheel and top piece without accidentally gluing the main body. Do a check fit and shave to as close as you can. This will give you a nice snug fit and ensure the wheel doesn't turn while you're painting.
