I was looking for a compact and light launch pad for my mini quad to use the launch control feature from betaflight. All I could found were bulky/heavy, so this is were I came up with.
The easiest setup is to put the 4 pads into the ground (requiring some sort of soft ground). The connecting pieces will add some rigidity.
Additionally this structure can be mounted on the base plate, e.g. if for example no soft ground is available. For those scenarios you can expand two arms for more stability, so the launch pad doesn't fall over.
The base plate also can be mounted with pegs into the ground. The base plate is housing all parts and has a pretty small foot print. The used peg size is about 150 x 3 mm. The base plate is 160x140x20 mm and weights about 200g. It fit's nicely into my bagpack and doesn't add too much weight. It should fit most 5'' racing quads.
This certainly is not perfect and not for everybody, but I'm pretty happy the way it turned out in the end. Maybe it'll inspire other makers to build similar approached launch pads.
