I'm in the process of converting my MakerGear M2 to a twin-extrusion setup as developed by Tim Edwards:http://opencircuitdesign.com/~tim/3d_printer/twin_project.html
The factory printed motor mount is somewhat wider than the motor itself so you lose a bit of travel in the X-axis. MakerGear has a new all-metal motor mount which is REALLY nice, but it moves the wiring to the side you you give up even more X (only an issue in the twin-configuration). This mount incorporates what I feel are the best aspects of all the other mounts.
-It utilizes the neat new wire organizer box from the metal motor mount, but moved to the top so that it doesn't increase the width of the extruder assembly beyond the width of the motor itself. Files for wiring box available here: https://github.com/MakerGear/M2/tree/master/Printed%20Parts/STL/V4%20Hotend
-It Mounts to the front of the planetary gearbox like the metal mount eliminating the bulky pinch-clamp assembly from the factory plastic mount.
-It is quite small and uses little plastic.
I print it in ABS flat on its back at 60% infill or greater. The reason that the file is called "Metal Motor Mount" is that I had intended to cnc machine it out of aluminum, but when I 3D printed a prototype to test fit, it worked perfectly and there was no need for a metal replacement.
