Hi there,
GOOD NEWS TO ALL, THE IPHONE 5-5S VERSION IS NOW PRINTING AND WILL SEE RESULT BEFORE I ADD IT TO THINGIVERSE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD)
Here it is version 2!
UPDATE 01:
(plus I have added two extra stl files just now to print it in parts if you have a smaller 3D printer which now have been revised as one of those parts was bringing the other, not anymore, one part on each file)
UPDATE 02:
(in two parts now in this file) note i will make another version a bit smaller to fit on smaller 3D printers and perhaps another in pieces in case you have an even smaller machine*****
UPDATE 03:
THIS IS DONE And upladed !!! check it out now and like it(soon I will post a baby one for the iphone 6 plus)
UPDATE 04:
BUT FIRST I WILL DESIGN A KEYBOARD FOR IT THAT WILL HOUSE A THIRD PARY WIRELESS BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD I SAW ON EBAY WHICH IS CHEAP, WHITE AND LITTLE**
UPDATE 05:
I have now finished designing a keyboard that will go well with it!
I received more PLA in the mail today so I will print it tonight before i go home from work.
I received my bluetooth keyboard that I bought on Ebay to use for this project, it works fine and for under $20 AUS.
I have the apple II design almost ready to print also.
Soon i will be accepting donations through PayPal to support the making of these for you all fellow apple gadget lovers.
UPDATE 6:
Go and check the keyboard I made to go with it here:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:673695
UPDATE 07:
thats it done, finito la musica, pasato la festa!
This is no longer a work in progess
I am moving onto the next two projects, the imac box (which will be an iphone/s charging dock and maybe apple TV enclosure)
and the Apple II)
photo adeed of new keyboard in the flesh
It has the apple logo and the cut out for the disk drive works without support if you print it sideways
I have printed 3 of them now, it takes about 15 hours on 'fast'.

So I thought it would be a neat idea to modify it to suit an ipad mini.
Its finished!!! check the updated photos.
update 8: (2015_10_29)
This project has taken some time, effort and resources to design and build.
(As you know any prototype is expensive at first, I am happy to wear the costs)
please go here and help me continue creating cool stuff.https://www.paypal.me/justonedollar
I have added rice between the scafolding within the piece before it was fully printed (rice in the gap where the base is) to add weight to it so it is nice and heavy.
Thankyou Appple store in Brisbane CBD for letting me take photos at your store.
Look at my other ipad mini creations.

I used ArchiCAD, I am an architect.
I downloaded the original macintosh model as a sketch up file and import it to archicad, then I did the same for the ipad mini.
from the article I downloaded the images and changed it to suit and kept the original proportions where I could
Then I changed it a little more to be able to put in on the 3d printing bed, it just fits on my 3d touch.
And I rendered it using Artlantis really quickly
