I invented this press back in 2008. Applied for a patent and it was issued in September 2009. I have since let the patent expire. I have sold near 1000 presses in the last 8 years and have discontinued making and selling them because of age. The last model is V4 and it sold on eBay for $85, free shipping in the US.
The video shows how I made the Press and how to use it to pad stacks of paper. It can pad up to 1000 sheets of 20 lb paper and up to 11 inches wide.
I can pad a stack of paper in 4 minutes. Not including the adhesive drying time.
Requirements:
1 ea 1/2" x 10-5/8" x 8-15/16" MDF Base panel
1 ea 1/2" x 4-1/2" x 11-1/16" MDF Back Plate panel
1 ea 1/2" x 2" x 11" MDF Clamp Plate panel
1 ea 1/2" x 2-1/2" x 12-3/8" MDF Clamp Bar panel
1 ea 1/2" x 1" x 12-3/8" MDF Clamp Bar panel
9 ea 3D printed parts which includes 2 Clamp Arms and 2 Wedges
2 ea 1/2" x 11-7/8" hardwood dowels
8 ea #6 x 1/2" Flat Head Sheet Metal Screws MDF panel screws)
4 ea #6 x 1/2" Round Head Sheet Metal Screws (dowel screws)
