Quilling is the art of rolling paper strips into tight cylinders, then arranging the cylinders to create artwork. This guide helps people quill who have low vision. It has several holes of different sizes with which the user can "test-fit" a roll of paper to determine if they have reached the right size or not. Most of the artwork our low-vision quilling group is doing will be done on 7.5" matted frames. This quilling guide rests between the edges of the mat, and provides a definite "center" mark, as well as 1" and 0.5" inch graduations away from the center. This can help users "see" where they are in space on their project.
