After Bridgewater AFC hit financial troubles in the late 50's, they have developed the ground very little. An extra exit for away fans was installed, and a canvas roof, the first ever in a british football stadium, was installed at the club end (Cow Shed terrance). As well as this, the wooden seats in the new park stand are being removed and replaced with plastic seats. This year the club suffered what would be their worst ever defeat- 19-0 at home to Spurs. However, after a 12-0 home win in the last game of the season against local rivals York city, they were saved from promotion by a point and 6 goal difference.
