The viewing panes are 156mm x 104mm x 2mm. The thinnest sections allow light to pass through, especially if you use translucent filament (I choose glow in the dark). Any image can be set-up on the panes, but this lamp was designed to use standard photo lithophanes. The base was designed around a cheap LED tap light I found on Amazon.
The lithophane frame sections are 4 prints of the same piece. A dual tongue and groove fits the parts together and helps hold in the images during assembly. My printed base is my original base, so the light is too close to the panes. I raised the height of the walls on the base to sink the light lower below the panes to improve visibility.
