Problem:
1) I had no CPU Cooler for my Open PC Core2 motherboard project.
All I had was:
A standard Intel aluminium heatsink (with a bad fan).
A 120mm case fan ( Noctua ).
I started searching for LGA775 conversions on thingiverse, but found nothing. Only backplates...
So i decided to design my own, instead of catching COVID-19 at the store.
In my design, there are two parts.
A back plate, and a conical shaped adapter on which you can sandwich the CPU using screws.
The 120mm fan can then be attached to the top, using tie wraps, hot glue or PC fan screws.
The result is awesome !
Very low noise and temperature levels, for such a cheap heatsink.
Even at 100% the E5220 it never reach more than 55-60 Celcius.
The previous fan would make a lot of noise at full CPU load.
Before printing, please make sure that there is enough room on you're motherboard to clear RAM, CPU power connector etc.
Printed in PETG@230C, so that It will not melt.
Don't use PLA it will probably deform!
