This is a file containing all the objects required to print an LED adapter for Leica MS5 stereoscopes. It allows you to cheaply convert your stereoscope to a fluorescent scope. The design should be adaptable to other microscope brands with minor modifications. This file permits you to mount two different filters and to select between either one (or none) by sliding the filter holder. The LED and the filters that you use should be selected based on the intended use. We observe green and red fluorescent proteins (GFP and RFP respectively) and have purchased LED and filters for this purpose. We bought LEDs from Luxeonstar.com, and from Plasmaled.com (between $3 and $15 each). We bought our filters from Comaoptics.com (between $15 and $20 each). We powered the lights with a 12V, 2A power supply from Amazon. I hope this helps. If you choose your LED and filters wisely, you should be able to add fluorescence to your stereoscope for about $40-$60. Not bad considering the costs of these things...
