I love the tree design in the original posting, but I wanted a way to easily replace the battery and keep the tree light close to the ornament for maximum lighting effect - thus the hybrid design was inspired.
By adapting the original base slightly (adding an extending channel for a more reliable battery connection and ensuring the sizing would match), I created a simple and stylish tree ornament that my wife made me print 60 of for all her friends and family.
With this design, you get optimal functionality through easy battery replacement and structural integrity, with the sleek and festive design of a well-lit tree (pick a fun changing color LED for added pizzazz!).
