I have no idea what you would really call this. technically, it is a latch, as it allows two surfaces to be connected while allowing them to also be disconnected easily.
I had printed out a "normal" hook-style latch for linking the doors of my greenhouse together, but when the wind blew, it tended to be more pressure than the latch could stand, so the doors would open. not ideal.
the idea with this design is that you have two grooved cylinders screwed to the doors, and a weighted shape that slots into the groove to keep the doors closed. the shape (or "latch" as I'm calling it) is easy to remove - just lift up and off.
the weights are easy to find. anywhere that you find people driving cars, you will also find wheel-balance weights on the side of the road. they tend to have the same size clip (16mm), so should fit the 17mm slot in the latch's "mouth".
