The internal engine pieces are numbered front to back to help in assembly. The largest internal engine piece, made of 2 parts, should be inserted with the arrow pointing to the nose of the engine.
The body of the Astromech Droid also serves as a support piece to help align the 3 body pieces and keep them stable as the glue dries.
The cockpit is 3 pieces and the center piece goes through all 3 body layers. The center piece also has a notch where the turret gun mounts. The two side pieces have windows so be careful to place them properly.
You can glue the model to the stand but I don't. I like to be able to pull it off and make flying space ship sounds while I pretend to fly.
