A simple chess set with a board and storage case. I added magnets to the pieces, board and case.
I liked the simple design that TomasLA uploaded of Lanier Graham's chess set. I modified the style of the King and Queen a little, and corrected the size of one of the rooks. The box idea was from 47Thomasj https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3658641.
My son suggested I make the lid slide in from the side so that with the lid on the box, the board could be flush with the other half of the board. The boxes have magnets to hold them together while playing a game of chess. I made the pieces 15mm square and the board squares 20mm to give a bit of room between pieces.
I chose to add a stripe of color to it with the idea of possibly adding a monogram to the King and Queen in the future, by recessing a letter and having the contrasting stripe visible.

Printing:
Box 6x2 Magnet: There are holes for magnets in the top of the box to hold the lid closed. There are holes for magnets on the face of the box to hold the boxes together while playing a game. Each box holds a set of pieces, so print two boxes.
Board Lid 6x2 Magnet: There are magnet holes for each square on the board. They are half of the full chess board and double as lids for the boxes, so print two Board Lids. Pause the print to change colors from black to white so it looks like a real chess board.
Chess Pieces: Print one set for white and one set for black. They also have magnet holes to hold them to the board during game play.
