In the Age of Wonder
Among the rocky cliffs of the Claw Motions, to the high marshes where the Black river runs, The Landstriders,Tallest among all of Thar's creatures, towered over most of the vegetation. As alien as they come these giants are know to willing aid any Gelfings with the know how, and are the ideal choice for swift travel. Their diet consist mostly of a special kind nectar from nearby towering flowers and use their extendable mouth fliers to suck out and digest their food. But as peaceful as they are they can become fierce when threaten. There imposing size and speed make them a considerable threat, they all have the ability to spit their acidic juices at an enemy causing sever injury. They are also the only creatures on Thar that seem to have an unexplained hatred for the Garthium Soldiers. Once spotted, a Landstrider will attack any lone Garthium that gets too close, and will leave it crippled before it knows what is going on.
From the mind of Jim Henson, and from the concept art created by Brain Froud, I created this model in Blender based of several different images showing both the look and design of these creatures so that the print would stand on its on once finished.I may come back to this once i have found a way to improve the amount of detail to create a more hairy look to them
