Model of LCT - Mark 3 Waterline-model of Landing Craft Tank (Mk3). They could carry 5 x 40-ton tanks or ten 3-ton trucks 5 trucks or 300 ton of cargo.
Armament 2 x 2-pdr's or 2 x 20 mm guns. Larger oceangoing landing craft designed to land tanks or vehicles directly on the beach. Similar in appearance to the other British types the LCT Mk1, 2, 3 and 4
The 2-pdr gun is included, there are free designs available for a 20 mm Oerlikon on wargaming3d. The model has been prepared and detailed for 1:100 wargaming. Meaning the railing is a bit stronger to prevent breaking to easy. It is waterline model and not a complete hull design. The Hull would be below water and would not work on a gaming table. The model is based on original drawings. The tank-deck has been raised a bit as i would otherwise be below the waterline and not be printable. Test-printed on a Creality Ender-5 FDM using PLA in 016mm layer. The whole model can be printed with a FDM printer. But off-course you can print he model in resin if needed. I did add 20mm Ammo storage boxes with extra details, but these require a Resin printer to print. The 3D-prints of Railing needs to be bent a bit after printing to fit correctly. Main reason is that it is more easy to print it flat on the printer-bed. If needed you can cut the stl in smaller pieces and glue it together on the craft. I have added the complete hull, but also cut in parts. There are a few small options on the right-bow you can put the small hatch or the large entry thing. Around the deck-house you can use some different types of storage, vents, winches, etc. The LCT Mk3 had different versions with different setup in the details, so feel free to create your own version based on photos. The LCT Mk3 had the option to cover the tank-deck with canvas. I did not add support beams for the canvas, as that would make it rather difficult to print on an FDM printer. And you would need access to the tank for moving your wargaming models of the ship. Model dimensions when printed in 1:100 scale 61 cm long (Ramp-down) 9,5 cm wide 10 cm high (with main-mast) The Vickers 2pdr is included, this will print fine with a FDM printer. lct mk3 ww2 landing craft british hobby diy hobby diy other
