Clips to secure a 22cm diameter heat bed to the Kossel Mini's frame. 5mm lip holds the set up securely without getting too close to the effective heated area.
This hold a 19mm high "sandwich" comprising of (bottom up):
-- 3mm thick borosilicate glass (22cm dia.)
-- 11.5mm thick cork board (IKEA HEAT @ 20cm dia. - not sure of fire rating though)
-- 1.5mm MK2Y 200 heat bed
-- 3mm thick borosilicate glass (22cm dia.)
5mm clearance at the base allows elevation away from the electronics underneath although the cork board should insulate the heat.
This is WIP, I've no intention to power up the heat bed any time soon (there is a RAMPS problem anyway) so I would likely add a layer of kapton between the bed and cork board for added safety.
The 3 clips are locked in place by 3 x 30mm M3 hex pipes. I replaced the short M34 top screw with a M38mm. Added 6 M3*8 screws to lock the top plate in place.
Installation:
Install 3 base units, place one piece of glass, adjust then tighten base pieces.
Install cork board (notice I grooved it to accommodate the thermistor cable so it all sits flat)
Loosen ONE base unit, install heat bed and top glass
Re-fasten the base unit.
GENTLY tighten dual M3*8 screws on all three top plates (don't over tighten or you might break or stress the glass or your print, whichever is weaker).
For removal to access printer innards loosen one base unit.
