The objective of this proposal is to design a scooter that keeps all its advantages but at the same time provides a mechanism that allows a multiplication of the speed, so the scooter can be moved at a higher speed without the user needing to move its legs at the same speed.

The proposed solution is to use an auxiliary wheel on which the user will make ​​his impulse, which in turn will be connected to the rear wheel through a simple gear; the differences between the diameters of the gears , the rear wheel and the auxiliary wheel will produce a multiplication of the speed of the scooter with respect to the speed of the user's feet.

The auxiliary wheel will have a smaller diameter than the rear wheel and its rotation axis will be placed in a higher position relative to the axis of the rear wheel, so it can be operated by the user with the same movements than in standard scooters, and will also avoid touching the ground when cornering.

A freewheel mechanism, similar to the one used on bicycles, also allows the user to have his foot resting on the auxiliary wheel without slowing the progress of the scooter, therefore furthe increasing the ease of use.

I submitted a patent application in Spain last May and now I am looking for designers interested in developing this concept into a real project.
