Sometimes you need to take off or land somewhere that just isn't flat, solid, or safe enough for your Inspire 1. Hand launching and hand catching is possible on the stock aircraft but difficult and not terribly safe.
This is meant to solve all that by giving you a solid handle to grasp. It's very strong and very light, and you can easily handle the craft. Simply hold in mid-air, start the props, and off you go!
The VPS occasionally thinks the handle is the ground and aborts raising the landing gear, but simply repeating the process should work and, if you have the automatic landing gear off, should not recur during flight.
