This is a free visual aid for my Nettfabb tutorial / lesson on custom lattice structures for hollowed 3d models.
And it's well suited for photo polymer and metal powder printing. So you can print this sample immediately, and forget about the need to assimilate the material, if all that is not so important for you! :-)
Scale it up if you want because it is a high poly!

Strictly speaking, this is a Kelvin structure, but we are not suggesting that you do mathematics! Just and only 3D modeling!

We have outlined a method for producing the lattice structure of the nature form we have 3D modeled on the bone structure basis of representatives of the animal world of Earth, both living around us today, and long ago extinct. Well known, this structure is the result of centuries of evolution, which means that it has been tested for millions of years and approved with life itself! We have noticed that the cell profile of this remarkable sequence is very good and suitable for its reproduction in the thickness of massive parts when 3D printing of various products in technology and art. This form is undoubtedly one of the best solutions for saving print materials, resins, metal powders, polymers, energy and, in some cases, the time. It will significantly reduce costs for production and reduce the weight of future products while maintaining strength. Today I thought that the Kelvin structure cannot be discussed without comparison the Weaire-Phelan structure!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weaire%E2%80%93Phelan_structure
We happy to create 3D models of such a high generative, bionic, modern and incredibly cool structure for our students! Please 3D print 8 pieces for a visual representation the structure periodicity. You can find Weaire-Phelan cell on the Internet, but it's very
difficult to imagine a period without 3D model (and this is not only for me personally,
I think :-))
