it`s xmas - discount! greetings my 3d friends, here we have another extensive and detailed asset pack for your consideration all objects modelled to give a worn, aged look to each gear, which you can easily build up a complex gear system to fit within your project/scene : .blend .fbx .obj/mtl all textures gears in total are included in this pack: 8 gears at approx. 400cm diameter 8 gears at approx. 500cm diameter 8 gears at approx. 750cm diameter 8 gears at approx. 1000cm diameter of course, these can be easily scaled to your requirements modelled in blender 2.80 (compatible with versions 2.80/2.93 onwards) textured in substance painter 2 all modifiers closed all objects named accordingly in the outliner easy to scale to suit your project scale 1.000 this pack does not contain any other items shown in my example renders 2k resolution maps / pbr /: basecolor, metallic, roughness & normal (height maps provided if you wish to use them) 2048 x 2048 maps unwrapped - non overlapping uvs clean topology, no loose or double vertices please note if you wish to use blenders render engine: you may need to go into the render properties tab - performance - the hdri used in the renders is not included all textures are included/packed into the file, if this is the format you wish to use once unzipped you will see separate folders containing the following: .blend file .obj files .fbx file textures if you do decide to purchase this pack i wish to thank you in advance any queries please do get in touch thank you for your interest and support! : the following is intended for blender users, if you are using the obj/ fbx formats or another software, consider this a guide. how to import these models into blender/ your blender scene: unzip "industrial_gears_all_files.7z" you will now have folders: blender fbx obj textures : 1. open blender 2. go to file........find and open `industrial_gears.blend` - in the blender folder : 1. select: append from the `file` drop down menu 2. go to your industrial gears folder location 3. open: industrial_gears.blend 6. select - object from the menu 7. then simply choose which object, or objects, you wish to add to your project then choose (you can box select all using `b`) they will now appear in your scene :) cycles render engine used for all the rendered images shown tested in 2.80/2.93 eevee remember if using : you may need to go into the render properties tab - performance - all textures/images and associated files are included/packed within the blender file scale applied 1.000 rotation applied 0.000 origin of all models: centre of mass all models are named accordingly in the outliner please note the hdri lighting used in the images provided is part of this package of course any of the objects can be duplicated as many times as you like using shift-d - multiple industrial gears! thanks for reading through this, i do hope you find this asset pack useful for your own projects any queries please do get in touch hope you like my models :) thanks again for your interest! : a gear is a rotating circular machine part having cut teeth or, in the case of a cogwheel or gearwheel, inserted teeth (called cogs), which mesh with another toothed part to transmit torque. a gear may also be known informally as a cog. geared devices can change the speed, torque, and direction of a power source. gears of different sizes produce a change in torque, creating a mechanical advantage, through their gear ratio, and thus may be considered a simple machine. the rotational speeds, and the torques, of two meshing gears differ in proportion to their diameters. the teeth on the two meshing gears all have the same shape. two or more meshing gears, working in a sequence, are called a gear train or a transmission. the gears in a transmission are analogous to the wheels in a crossed, belt pulley system. an advantage of gears is that the teeth of a gear prevent slippage. in transmissions with multiple gear ratios—such as bicycles, motorcycles, and cars—the term "gear" (e.g., "first gear") refers to a gear ratio rather than an actual physical gear. the term describes similar devices, even when the gear ratio is continuous rather than discrete, or when the device does not actually contain gears, as in a continuously variable transmission. furthermore, a gear can mesh with a linear toothed part, called a rack, producing translation instead of rotation.
