I started with the files from Raspberry Pi 7 Inch Touchscreen display case by luc_e. I left the lid the same but copied it over for your convenience. I made multiple improvements to the other two parts. Print all three parts and use 8 M3 screws to connect the parts.
I improved the split screen cover by shelling out the thick areas to make it lighter and print faster. I added a raised edge to protect the sides of the screen. I also added connecting joints so that the two halves of the screen cover snap together with a pair of pliers (see photo). I arranged the parts so both halves of the screen cover can be printed at the same time on a small print bed.
The original case body did not allow space for the white ribbon cable to fold. The original design did not leave room for swapping out the SD card either. I redesigned the case so that the ribbon cable loops out of the case and is protected by an arch. This space makes the SD card accessible for changing cards. I strengthened the body by adding fillets to the inner corners.
This case works best flipped upside down so that it doesn't sit on the power cord. Flipping it also puts the usb ports to the right which is better for a mouse cord. To flip the screen open a terminal window and type:
cd /boot/
open the config.txt file with the editor of your choice
to the bottom of the file add the line: lcd_rotate=2
save the file and reboot, the screen should be flipped on reboot
