In my DIY & maker adventures, there are times when I just needed to get something to spin freely axially on a bearing. But for one reason or another, I'd need an adapter or hub to make the bearing work with whatever cylindrical object or hole I was working with. Enter Hubba Hubba!
Type in the dimensions you want for the two axles, how far apart they are, how hollow you need the thing, and boom! You got an item.
But that's not all! It's got other uses!
Need to make a quick funnel? Here you go!
Need to make a custom reducer for a shop vac hose? Hey hey!
Need to get a spool of solder to spin on someone else's solder spool holder? Okay, that one is pretty obscure, but now you know where to go!
The applications aren't limitless, but it's a fun thing to have in your toolbox.
My first OpenSCAD file ever. WIP.
Update Aug 24, 2015: I fixed it, but it's not the most elegant code in the world.
Update Aug 17, 2015: Found a sorta bug in the code when using "Like a shell". Need to do some trig and will update the code when I find the time. Basically, the shallower the cone profile, the thinner the shell gets. Not a good thing, will fix.
