I play Guitar in a Band and we switched to DMX LED-Spots. But i did not find DMX capable Footswitches online, so i decided to build one by myself. It was one of the first things i made on my 3D printer...
The Housing is stackable. for each footswitch, you will need a segment. i used thee threaded rods to assemble the segments to one housing.
In the back there is room for an Arduino Uno with a simple Max485 IC, an old ripped off Phone Plug-In Charger supplying 5V, a XLR Connector and a power connector from an old PC Power supply.
I had some Problems with warping, but i used the soldering iron and some filament to close the gaps between the segments. the housing is remarkably solid and does its job in the daily routine of our band very well!
