Uses two 1/4-20 bolts and one 1/4-20 nut (fender washer optional). The Ball is designed with removable supports that hold the ball and a 1" 1/4-20 bolt. You must check in your slicer preview at which layer the bolt opening will close up and pause at or near that layer so that you can use the printer software to jog the nozzle out of the way so you can inset the bolt. Multiple copies can be printed at the same time, you just need to pause at the correct layer so the encased bolts can be inserted.
I have included a version of the bolt_ball that has the pause built in, but your setup may vary from mine. I'm using a USB connection to my PC and Reptier Host 2.0.0. The Repetier can accommodate the "@pause " command, but not if it's on an SD card, the printer will simply ignore the line to pause and just keep on printing.
Assembly should be fairly straight forward. Insert one bolt into the ball clamp and insert the ball with the bolt in it into the clamp.
Insert that assembly into the base clamp first and add a nut to the back and snug it down.
Trim the ball supports from the bolt using diagonal cutters/pliers/dremel cutter/hobby knife.
Mount your camera and your done.
The clamp is designed to not really need hand tools. In fact you only need the same tension if you used a 1/4-20 wingnut and your hand.
